Office Cleaning – Don’t do it Like It’s 2021
|March 22, 2022
Offices just can’t seem to settle back into something of a stable routine since the start of the pandemic. First, offices closed in a panic due to Stay at Home Orders implemented around the country. Then, essential workers were allowed to return. Then, when it seemed we’ve turned the tide on the virus, offices began opening back up and most of the workforce began going back in. Now, it seems companies are scaling back again, many even making office attendance optional for good. This, for obvious reasons, makes office cleaning a rather turbulent topic. What’s the best solution for your office? Is it no cleaning (closed office), some cleaning, or the usual? Or, is it a whole different animal now? We say that office cleaning is a whole different animal. Don’t let this discourage you. It doesn’t mean that you’re facing an insurmountable task – just that a different approach is required. In other words, stop cleaning your office like it’s 2021. Here’s what to do:
Start With a Deep Clean
2021 held an aversion to touching and moving things. This year, do the opposite. Deep clean your office. Move and remove absolutely everything and clean, sanitize, and disinfect every nook and cranny. It’s that simple.
Go Paperless
One of the best ways to clean your office is by reducing the need to clean it, right? As you may find out through the previous tip, the stacks and stacks of paper, booklets, manuals, and other paper products are the source of a lot of dust and contaminants. Going paperless wherever and whenever you can will reduce the clutter and build up of dust around your office.
Invest in the Latest Disinfecting Tech
Disinfecting is arguably the most important task when it comes to office cleaning. Thanks to the pandemic, serious innovations have come to cleaning tech, such as electro disinfecting devices. We suggest investing in one. You won’t get a more efficient and effective disinfecting job done using traditional methods. Sure, they’re pricey, but it’s better safe than sorry.
Don’t Forget Your Air System
When we think of office cleaning, we often overlook our HVAC, or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system. Your office HVAC system’s ability to cycle and filter air has more than just an impact on the air quality in your office, though air quality is an important indicator of cleanliness through its effect on employee health. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that dangerous airborne viruses – their invisible particles – easily spread through the air by attaching to dust and other fine particles.
This makes HVAC maintenance and cleaning important. If you haven’t done so recently, it’s a good idea to schedule an inspection and possible maintenance of your HVAC system, as well as replacing air filters, cleaning of the insides of vents and air ducts, and cleaning your vent covers. By doing so, you should notice a reduction of dust on surfaces throughout your office.
