Bar & Pub Ultimate Maintenance Checklist

|July 26, 2022

When you’re running a bar, whether it’s at a club or restaurant, you need to ensure that it’s always presentable and ready to host customers. Hygiene is a vital aspect of running smooth operations at a bar. It is also recommended that you follow health and safety guidelines to give customers satisfactory services.

Besides cleaning the bar, you must comply with safety regulations by the government. It also helps your pub build a reputation among the public. To make sure you’re complying with all these regulations, keep a checklist and tick things off as you go.

Daily Bar & Pub Cleaning Checklist

With a cleaning checklist, you can offer visitors the perfect ambiance. Moreover, keeping your place clean is also a sign that you’re dedicated to maintaining safety standards by relevant authorities.

Let’s take a look at the checklist that can help you better maintain the place:

  • Wipe Down the Bars

The first thing you need to do is clean the bar to get rid of leftover food and dirt in high-traffic areas. This will keep the space pleasant for customers to sit down and have a drink.

  • Clean the Tables

The tables are a high-traffic place where germs can accumulate quickly due to leftover food and the dirt they bring from outside. Hence, it’s vital that you clean up tables after each use. This way, the next customer will feel comfortable when sitting at the table.

  • Replace the Beer Mats

Beer mats are an effective way to protect the tables from beer spills, which are frequently during bar timings. The least you can do is make sure that they’re cleaned after each use. Beer mats help you reduce furniture damage due to beer spills and keep the place neat and tidy.

  • Get Rid of Wasted Food

Leftover and spilled food around the bar makes it a hotspot for bacteria to thrive. It can also attract pests, which are detrimental to a business’s reputation, especially in the food and beverage industry. At the end of the day, make sure to sweep up or vacuum leftover food particles.

  • Wash Glasses

If you’re serving beer and other drinks to customers, make sure the glasses are clean and hygienic enough to ensure customer satisfaction. To avoid hygiene-relayed complaints, put away dirty glasses for washing as soon as customers are finished using them. This will also prevent the spread of germs around the place. In addition, opt for a thorough cleaning process to get rid of greasy finger marks and lip marks. This way, your glasses will be squeaky clean for the next customer who comes in.

  • Clean the Toilets

This is a no-brainer since most customers who come in to eat end up using the toilet as well. How clean you keep your toilets can significantly impact your image among customers. To avoid embarrassment and complaints, make sure they’re unclogged and that the floors aren’t slippery.
